Delivery of the third and final stage of the work is scheduled for May this year. The investment is R$ 14.5 million, with the Itaipu Technological Park project (PTI) and resources from Itaipu Binacional.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth mentioning that the heaviest works in the construction of the Municipal Market have already been completed. On the outside, two parking lots are yet to be completed, the paver installed, some stairs and access ramps.<\/p>\n<p>Internally, the boxes were installed, as well as air conditioning towers, bathrooms, administrative area annex, office, installation of ducts, among other services. The electrical cabling will still be carried out, the installation of ceramics will be completed, some partitions, roller doors in the boxes, light fixtures and other equipment.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"-Cronograma-de-obras\"><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>works schedule<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Work on the market began in 2018, in an old shed owned by the now defunct Cobal (formerly Companhia Brasileira de Alimentos), and was divided into three phases. The first included replacing the roof and reinforcing the structure of the entire building; in the next phase, the contracted company was unable to complete the service and a new tender was required, which led to a delay in the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The third and final phase, expected to last ten months, will be completed on time, despite the problems generated by the covid-19 pandemic, such as a lack of materials.<\/p>\n<p>The Municipal Market will have 3,750 square meters and 70 modular boxes, which will receive different types of commerce, such as horticultural products, butchers, fishmongers, dairy products and cold cuts, emporium, drinks, grocery, kiosks and restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>The expectation is that the project will attract residents of Foz do Igua\u00e7u and visitors. A new tourist circuit is being developed by Itaipu, linking the new market to the plant, passing through historical points that go back to the time of construction of Itaipu.
